        Another material that can be used to create an OLED display device that is adaptable and stretchable has been developed by experts at the College of Chicago. Despite being able to twist in the middle or stretch to more than twice its original length, the material, a polymer, still transmits a fluorescent example. The material could enable various applications, such as wearable electronics, health sensors, and foldable computer screens.

        OLED displays device are widely used in smartphones and TVs because they offer high brightness, contrast, and energy efficiency. However, conventional OLED displays device are made of brittle organic molecules that cannot withstand bending or stretching. New polymers with versatility and glow were arranged by the specialists utilizing data from the science, actual science, and programming to conquer this constraint.

         The researchers used atomic models and simulations to understand how the polymers behave when they are pulled or bent. They also synthesized the polymers and fabricated them into thin films that can be sandwiched between electrodes to form OLED  display devices. The devices can emit different colors depending on the structure of the polymers and the applied voltage.

        The researchers demonstrated that their OLED display devices can be rolled, folded, twisted, and stretched without losing their performance. They also showed that the devices can recover their original shape after deforming. The researchers believe that their material is a breakthrough for flexible electronics and could enable many new technologies that have not been imagined yet.

        The exploration was distributed in Nature Materials and was driven by Sihong Wang and Juan de Pablo, teachers of sub-atomic designing at the College of Chicago.
